Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation is an individualized outpatient program of exercise and education. The program is designed to help you recover and improve your health from heart disease. Our program emphasizes reduction in controllable risk factors to reduce recurrence of future events and improve your management of cardiac disease. Jackson County Regional Health Center has a nationally certified program with AACVPR designed for patient assessment, tobacco cessation, nutrition management, weight management, blood pressure management, blood lipid management, psychosocial management, diabetes management, physical activity counseling and exercise training. Your family practice provider or cardiologist will make a referral to our program on your behalf. You will have a 60 to 90 minute first session for comprehensive intake, exercise assessment and set personal goals. Group sessions from 1 to 6 participants are 60 minutes in length and meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Jackson County Regional Health Center’s Cardiac Program is found within Physical therapy and Wellness Services. Our interdisciplinary team consists of Registered Nurse and Registered Dietician with certification in Diabetes Education. Our emphasis is on monitored exercise and continued education specific to your disease process. Each participant will have 1:1 evaluation and assessment to set up a specific individualized exercise program, allowing for the achievement for maximum benefits of exercise. Some common diagnoses sent to Cardiac Rehabilitation include: Heart attack, Coronary artery bypass, Congestive heart failure, Stent placements, Valve replacements, Heart transplants and Peripheral artery disease.
