Maquoketa, IA – The Jackson County Public Hospital Auxiliary recently celebrated its 70th anniversary with a special brunch honoring decades of dedication and service to the hospital and community. Auxiliary members listened to remarks from the JCRHC Foundation Coordinator Katie Bopes, JCRHC Chief Financial Officer Kolin Huth, and JCRHC Chief Executive Officer Patrick Peters, reflected on the organization’s history through a commemorative slideshow, and enjoyed a brunch prepared by the JCRHC hospital dietary staff.
“Auxiliary members are some of our very best promoters and ambassadors in the community. The positive way they represent our hospital, share our story, and encourage others to support local healthcare is deeply appreciated,” said Kolin Huth, JCRHC Chief Financial Officer.
Hospital leadership expressed gratitude for the Auxiliary’s continued commitment and the lasting impact its members have made on patient care and the community throughout the years.
The Jackson County Public Hospital Auxiliary was first formed in 1956. For 70 years, the Auxiliary has played an important role in supporting the hospital through fundraising and volunteer efforts. Auxiliary members are all volunteers and also dedicate their time to staffing the hospital gift shop, helping create a welcoming experience for patients, visitors, and staff. Their generosity has helped support nearly 50 different initiatives worth approximately $236,000. The Auxiliary has assisted in purchasing essential equipment, provided educational opportunities for staff to attend classes and training, and has awarded annual scholarships to support future healthcare professionals.
Community members interested in supporting the local hospital are encouraged to consider joining the Hospital Auxiliary. Through volunteering and fundraising efforts, Auxiliary members continue to make a meaningful difference in advancing healthcare services and supporting the needs of patients, staff, and the community.
