Local Students Receive Scholarships from Jackson County Hospital Auxiliary & Foundation

Maquoketa, Iowa – Several local students have been awarded scholarships from the Jackson County Hospital Auxiliary & Foundation. These scholarships recognize students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to pursuing a career in nursing and healthcare related fields.

The Maxine & Duane Morehead scholarship is available to persons pursing an undergraduate degree in nursing. It is available to anyone in the Jackson County Regional Health Center’s service area. This year’s recipients include: Olivia McDermott, Delmar; Kelsey Knief, Bellevue; Kambree Schwager, Bellevue; Chloe Leon, Maquoketa.

The Grossman Nurses scholarship is also available to persons pursing an undergraduate degree in nursing. It is available to anyone in the Jackson County Regional Health Center’s service area. This year’s recipients include: Olivia McDermott, Delmar; Chloe Leon, Maquoketa.

The hospital Auxiliary scholarship supports students who are pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, or Laboratory. This year’s recipients include: Jessica Deaver, Bellevue; Hailey Veach, Maquoketa; Tala Lenz, Maquoketa; Rieley Burken, Charlotte; Anna Cota, Bellevue.

The Auxiliary Melba Kunde scholarship supports students who are second, third, fourth year or equivalent students who are pursuing a degree in: Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Laboratory, Nursing. This year’s recipients include: Kelsey Knief, Bellevue; Olivia McDermott, Delmar; Catherine Dunne, Bellevue.
