Dr. Benjamin Janson is Opthalmologist in Dubuque, Iowa and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Unity Point Health Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa and Jackson County Regional Health Center Maquoketa, Iowa.
Dr. Janson is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has published multiple peer reviewed journal articles, was a contributing author to the Encyclopedia of Ophthalmology, served on curriculum review team and leadership boards, presented at national meetings, and served as the Chief Medical Editor of EyeRounds.org. His medical interests include cataract surgery, treatment of medical retinal disease, and both medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
Dr. Janson grew up in Mason City, IA before attending Iowa State University and graduating summa cum laude in Microbiology and Genetics. While in college, he was a summer research intern at the National Institutes of Health. He then completed his medical training at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD before returning home to Iowa and completing his Internal Medicine internship and Ophthalmology residency training at the University of Iowa.
